Court Announcements

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, our Polk County Courthouse in Bartow served as the location for this year’s 10th Circuit High School Mock Trial Competition. Two incredibly talented teams from George Jenkins High School and Lakeland Christian School faced off in this annual competition. Magistrates Maria Zucker and Philip Vandenbosch served as presiding judges in two hard fought rounds and many local attorneys assisted in scoring the competition.

At the end of the day, Lakeland Christian School was announced as the winner and will go on to represent our circuit in the state competition in Orlando March 7th through March 9th. Child Support Hearing Officer Jennifer Steimle served as our circuit’s competition coordinator for the fourth year, as a liaison to the Polk Association for Women Lawyers and we appreciate our legal community’s support in making this a great event. We congratulate both teams on putting forth a stellar effort throughout the competition and wish Lakeland Christian School the best of luck in the state competition.
