Judges Honored to Serve as Guardians on Flight to Honor Mission 10

Congratulations to Judge Susan Barber and Judge Lori Winstead for their meaningful participation in Mission 10 of the Flight to Honor on April 29, 2025. Both judges had the distinct honor of serving as guardians—volunteers who accompany and care for Veterans during the one-day mission trip to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials dedicated to their service. Judge Barber served as guardian to Sandy Parrott, and Judge Winstead accompanied Glenn Stamm. Both Veterans served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict.

Flight to Honor is an extraordinary initiative that recognizes the bravery and sacrifice of American Veterans, providing them with an unforgettable journey to reflect, remember, and be celebrated. The dedication shown by Judge Barber and Judge Winstead in supporting this mission exemplifies the courts’ ongoing commitment to community service and civic engagement.

Our judicial branch is especially proud to support Veterans—not only through meaningful outreach like this, but also through our specialized Veterans Court, currently under the leadership of Judge Susan Barber. This problem-solving court is designed to help Veterans who are navigating the justice system by connecting them with the services, treatment, and support they need. Whether through courtroom programs or community events, we remain committed to honoring and assisting those who have served our country.
